The Daisy and The Candy Store were the "in" Beverly Hills private discos during the 70's. Even though I never had a membership, I went dancing every weekend.

Actress Brenda Sykes took me to The Daisy, where Jack Lemmon ate lunch daily. Sykes was a friend of the owner and Jack Lemmon, so we always went there, whether we had a membership or not.

Superstars like Jack Lemmon realized that we were treated like stepchildren by the Hollywood movie industry, and he would bend slightly to be inclusive.

At The Candy Store, Monte Kay was a member. My name was always on the list. I sampled every piece of gourmet candy. It's also where the now-famous photo of myself and singer Tom Jones, standing at the bar, was taken.
